We recently won the National Inclusive Payment Initiative Award by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) at the 2022 International Financial Inclusion Conference (IFIC’22).
The conference, hosted by the National Financial Inclusion Steering Committee (NFIS) headed by the CBN held on the 24th & 25th of November, 2022. It celebrated champions of inclusion – financial services companies playing their part in making payments accessible to everyday Nigerians.
The National Inclusive Payment Initiative Award is given to Payments Solution Providers with a proven track record of providing a reliable payment channel or service with effective interoperability, interconnectivity, and limited issues for low-income populations and evidence of timely consumer complaints resolution.
A truly cashless society is only possible if merchants can take digital payments from their customers. This is why our business banking solution enables a digital ecosystem where businesses and their customers can effectively transact safely and securely.
Each month, over 60 million cards are used across our merchant locations. These people in the past would not have had access to financial services. Now, in Nigeria’s 774 local government areas, we have merchant bankers who offer access to financial services to over 25% of banked Nigerians.
Recognition like this underscores our impact through Moniepoint. It shows that the work being done to bring merchants digital and payments innovation to ensure financial access is being seen and validated.
It’s also worthy of note that this award comes right on the heels of our recent announcement that we now process $10 billion in successful transactions monthly for businesses onboarded on our all-in-one financial platform, Moniepoint.
Over 500,000+ businesses across the country are living their business dreams through the payment and business banking solutions we provide, and the possibilities are infinite as we continue to grow.
